Airbag Symbol Flashing once then 9 times

I guess it's my lucky week. Now my airbag/seatbelt pretension warning light is flashing. It flashes once, then a pause, then nine times, then a pause, then once, etc. I did have a lot of crap under the seats for a recent road trip...No idea if that might somehow be responsible. Anyone have any experience dealing with this?

I don't have any experience with your issue, but in my CX-9, while cleaning out the interior, I noticed that there are some wiring harnesses underneath the seats. It's possible that whatever you were doing under the seats loosened the harness connections that may be under the seat. I'd disconnect the battery first, then take a look underneath the seats with a flashlight and make sure all of the connections are tight. Then I would check all fuses to make sure none are blown.

One flash, followed by nine flashes would imply airbag code 19. Need workshop manual to understand what code 19 means...

From the internets ...

Airbag code 19 indicates that the RCM has detected a circuit problem with the driver's side airbag circuit. That might mean a connector or a clock spring fault or the airbag or RCM has failed electrically.

So matched up with your reported lot's of stuff under your seats, a connector problem under the driver's seat sounds like a reasonable suspect.
