about 215/50/17

Hey guys hope you doing fine , i'm writting from Qubec, Canada so sorry about my english i'll do my best. I'm looking for informations about the size 215/50/17 because here in quebec everybody go with 215/45/17 and i'd preffer going for the confort instead of performance , i do 70% of highway out of 30ooomi./year so is there something to gain with the 215/50/17 or should i stay with stock size (205/50/17) , will my RPM go down aprox. 2% on highway or it will not affect, will i get a better fuel economy or wirst, will it affect the electronic on the car or it will not notice it. if you have experienced the 215/50/17 tell me because theres a lot more choice in this size.(dunno)

I don't think changing the tire size "profile" will effect the electronics on the car. Besides most of the tires offered will vary slightly from 45 to 55 profile which wont make much of a difference cuz they are 17 inch wheels mainly for good steering (low profile)

There is only a 1% to 1.5% difference in diameter between the factory 205/50 and a 215/50, depending on the brand/model of tire. This is negligable as far as most auto manufacturers are concerned. At 75mph (120km/h) your speedometer would be off by about 1mph (1.6km/h).

I'm finally going with 225/45/17 because its the same diameter, and my wheels are 17/7 offset 45 5 spokes.
