These are the mods he has:

Turbochargers.com gt30/40 dual ball bearing turbo
PSI FI 3bar map fuel computer/map clamp
agp turbo manifold
tial wastegate with multiple springs
tial BOV
agp FMIC
muffler shop 3 inch turbo-back
externaly dumping wastegate
autometer fuel pressure reg - in tank walboro 255 lph, areomotive FPR, return line

cause no one is spending the money the srt4 guys are...

if ppl built there motor, slapped a new turbo on and had some ems, there would be some mean proteges... the protege community doesn't seem to attract hardcore draggers. between you and Terry(spoolin_mp3) there aren't that many proteges breaking past 230whp...

yes he is. spring is 30-40min north of downtown, but still considered houston. turbochargers.com is a shop in houston, too. :)
 
perhaps it has something to do with the motor being a pussyass motor anyway that makes what, 140hp in stock form? they did kinda right by throwing the turbo on the car but still. the engine can't handle the power and i personally don't have the funds to build an enginenor do i to mod it and blow the engine and then have to buy another. i've gone through one engine and turbo as it is covered by warrenty and i don't want to have to pay if something happens to this one

hasnt something happen to you? didnt you trade in your msp for a srt? i know i remember something along those lines?
anyhow...300 hp here i come..with stock block or no.
 
Any of you guys see that Drag P5 thread? That guys has some serious money into his motor(s)..he'll soon be the fastest p5 around no doubt.
 
im not trying to be a dick, and dont flame me for this, but i just wanna give my thoght about this, i havent ever said anything so here goes.

weither or not the neon is a pussy car, weither or not our car looks better, weither or not they are spending thousands more than us, it doenst matter.

the facts are the facts, people in srt4's are faster. i love my protege and wouldnt trade it for a neon anyday, i would rather have my car. but if you wanna go fast in a straight line for cheap buy a neon. then turn the wheel and fly off the road but thats ur choice.

slam the SRT-4 with thicker roll bars and you're dust..........it doesn't take much to make a car handle better
 
well, maybe more than just rollbars. better suspension components- i.e. coilover system, wheel/tire combo, spring choice. 500HP and a nice suspension would be a monster on a track.
