4-wheel drive control solenoid circuit failure

Hi guys,
Have a cx5 sport nav 2.2 diesel 2013
Fault on diagnostic P1887:14-8A
Any way to pinpoint the fault, read that you can test the resistance of the solenoid coupling suggestions please
If I take it to main dealer it would no dought be a new diff and coupling.
Read on forums and threads that it it a common issue one guy had same fault it turned out to be corroded wireing into coupling housing
Thank you Peter

You can inspect the wires yourself, but you won't be able to see the wires going onto the to of the housing without lowering the rear subframe. And the wires are passed into the housing through a grommet so you don't have any other choice to be able to view it (maybe a flexible camera). The other cables/connector you can access on a lift. The nice thing with awd is you can lower the rear sub without taking anything apart.. you just have to support the diff at the jack point and undo the four nuts.

How I do it (ignore removed wheel/ suspension component I was accessing sway bar). You can do this on the ground as well with jack stands and a jack.
