There was a 4-2-1 Header that some company was selling about 5 years back. I can't for the life of me remember who it was!

It was 4-2 from the manifold down, then the 2 flange went from the bottom front of the engine to under the car (a graceful 90* bend) and collected behind the motor. It was something in the neighborhood of $400 iirc.

Anyone remember anything like this?

It was the AWR, not made any more and I haven't seen a used one for sale for a long time.

Theres a few,

Theres the AWR which I believe is being made again or it may have just been a limited batch. Then theres the racing mazda header, the Autoexe Header and the Maxim works header which is a copy of the auto exe header. (Pipes are reversed instead of 1 and 3 its 2 and 4 that merge or such). Maxim Works as far as I know make the header for Autoexe.

Ya but is 1k for a header worth it? Get a flange made for ours and have a shop do one custom for $300-500 depending on material used. That was my quote for a turbo manifold anyway

There is an article on how to adapt a 626 421 header to work in a protege. The arent that bad on ebay.

I have the probe/mx6/626 header it fits good but I have a slight exhaust leak from the mani part that mounts to the engine and use corrugated dryer line from home depot to make the egr connect
