Ok here's the idea 2002 mp3 350 to 375hp and still a daily driver with all the factory stuff A/C, stereo, interior things like that. Can it be done well we're going to try it!!! Post any input on what to do. Try to keep you guys updated on status.

Forged internals, big turbo and lots of boost, sure. There are a couple 300+ whp protege's out there now.

yup. and also i wouldnt try it with the mp3. my reason is the tranmisson being so weak. we have hte weak internals, if im not mistaken some msp has the weak internal transmisson too. i think the 03+protege from december or something like that and after had the stronger transmission. the mp3 tends to grind in 3rd gear. so even if u do get the block all bulky with all the good upgrades. i think the transmission would go.

I've been running mine with no problems. Been boosting 8psi for over a year and a half now. It all depends on how you drive the car, mine has never grinded in any gear.

there is a thread about this, pretty much any p5, saden, and msp made after october 2002 has the upgraded verion of the tranny with stronger everything

also, the mp3 ecu is good for n/a applications, but will hurt u if u boost, just trade it for the p5, sedan ecu and u'll be set

Stay tuned, I think "Turf" has a solution to the 3rd gear situation.

i would be very happy to have this. mine only grind when i rev high in second and shift into 3rd, if i wait till it drops to about 3k rpm n shift into 3rd it doesnt grind that much. just very little, i can feel it from the knob.

For 350-375HP or 275-325whp you are going to need the following:
Turbo kit that has the right parts to support that
engine management
clutch
built motor
motor mounts

That is just for starters. This week I will be posting a few dyno's of our Sleeper kit.The car has the following
Mental Addiction Built motor
Mental Addiction Revised Sleeper kit with a GT2871 dual ball bearing turbo
Spec Stage 3 clutch
Haltech E6X
440cc injectors

We will post dyno's of 10psi and 15psi.I am guessing it will make around 280-300whp at 15psi-16psi.

Some different tranny fluids have also aided in this problem. Have you tried running different tranny fluid?
