323 GTX engine into a P5?

I'm sure other people have thought of this, but has anyone SERIOUSLY thought about it (Corksport maybe)? What would it take to get the engine from a 88-89 323 GTX into a Protege?

All I know is I got to drive a 250hp GTX once and it was one of the greatest drives I have ever had. Insane.

A BP into an FS area. I don't know. I'd have to look at my miata and compare mounting locations.

You would need the motor and tranny from a 323GT actually. The FWD version.

Yes corksport has thought of this and they have done it in their protege drag car. As quoted from corksport "unless your car is a pure race car as in getting money back from it do not waste your time and money on this conversion" In other words this is a highly involved swap including new motor mounts stand alone wiring everything it would suck.

That's sort of what I expected, otherwise people would be doing it already.
