$2700 cdn to spend on....

my P5...what should i get....look at my sig for my current mods

this is what i'm thinking of getting

http://www.srmotorsports.com/protege.htm

MazdaSpeed exhaust camshaft

MazdaSpeed exhaust camshaft . This cam adds up to 10 HP to the 2.0L motor. This Mazda cam has increased lift and also in duration .

Part Number PR-12153
$169

Mazda Intake camshaft

Intake camshaft . Increased lift and also in duration . This intake camshaft adds up to 12 HP to the 2.0L motor .

one of my questions is do i need the springs too?
can i still add a turbo system later?
can my ECU handle it?

I'm not sure about either, but I do want to comment on these HP figs..I've seen some dyno results for the intake camshaft, but the exhaust camshaft gives like 10hp too? That's crazy. So u get 20hp+ for 189+169? I dunno bout that..and they claim their full catback exhaust gives 9hp...Thats is BS for SURE..you might pick up 9hp at the flywheel at some odd rpm, but if u measure as a whole or at the wheels, its like 3-5hp, if that... I've never seen dyno results in which an exhaust netted more than 5-6hp for a NA 4 cylinder car. Just my two cents. sorry i didnt stay on topic. =\

Heh sorry about that man, didn't mean to be an ass.

I would think the car would be easier to tune for the turbo without cams. And afterwards when you have the turbo running peak, you can put cams in, and then try to tune the cams better. One thing at a time, otherwise you wont know what the problem is.

You could just try for your listed future mods. I don't know about the cams, not being CARB legal and all. I would probabaly put some money on a universal Apexi exhaust can, like the N1 muffler, and get it ready for running a 2.5" exhaust system for the turbo you want, or just go 2.25" naturally aspirated. Either way just go to a muffler shop and get the piping run.

If you don't really need more go fast parts, I'd probabaly get some red TenzoR's from ?MMRusa.com? and get the sliding adapters from them as well. They look tight, and are still adjustable. Make for a good show car impression.
