2025 CX-5 Key Fob alternative?

I recently bought a 2025 CX-5 Preferred and hate the key fob with those tiny buttons on the side. I do like the 2017-2019 four button smart fob and was hoping that one would work with my 2025. Does anyone know if one from a 2017-2019 will work? I do have access to a scan tool that will program fobs so I'm able to do the programming myself if it were compatible.

Thanks PB.

Have a look at this thread over on the Miata forum. Perhaps you're already a member there?

The fobs for the MX and the CX are identical, almost anyways. My CX doesn't have a trunk/hatch button on the fob, the MX does.

Anyway, you're not the first to want to do this and you may get an answer there.

I have a 2020 and I don't like the fob either especially in the winter wearing gloves I often opened the hatch (I have the motorized hatch) instead of unlocking the vehicle. It took me a while to figure out how to avoid this but now I simply press very quickly on the unlock button as the delay to open the hatch is only about 1/4-1/2 second if I press the wrong button unintentionally ! If the vehicle is still unlocked, I press again, it beats taking off my gloves at 20 below ;)

For the current gen, they are identical, both having hatch/trunk buttons. I have a different color case on each one to tell them apart.

Interesting link.

Thanks everyone, haven't had much time to deal with this issue, busy time of the year.
