Has anybody driven the 2024 and compared it to the 2023 model? Especially interested in the stated improvements to suspension and steering effort.

The elapsed time between test driving a 23 and purchasing a 24 is too long for me to make a definitive statement but I do feel that the steering is lighter at lower speeds.

We test drive a 23 early last year and was a tad harsh over bumps , flash forward to my wife's recent move from her 21 CX5 to the CX50 the improvement is very, very good! It's a date I say fun car to drive and she and I both prefer the ride and car to the CX5.

Hmm I don't think this was an issue. I test drove a '23 (well, 2 of them) and the steering was noticeably lighter (boosted more?) than my CX-5's at low speed. I didn't like it because it didn't seem to match up with where I expected the car to go. It tightened up closer to the CX-5s at speed. I guess if you spent years driving CX-50's you'd be used to it, but the "parking lot" steering didn't seem as linear as I like.

That is good to hear. Maybe I'd be interested in a CX-50 refresh in 2026. But maybe not if the cladding and fake vents remain.

Took my 23 in for a state inspection and was given a very new 24 as a loner for the day. I like my 23 better. Suspension is taunter, steering is more like my old GTI, and it feels faster somehow. Also, I disconnected the fake engine noise when I put a subwoofer in, so mine is quieter and just sounds less strained than the 24.

I never had the opportunity to test drive a '23 model year CX-50, but my new '24 CX-50 Turbo Premium has a very familiar driving feel just like the '22 CX-5 Turbo Premium I traded in. The bigger wider tires is the only thing that really stands out to me, which makes me excited for winter when the snow wheel and tire set come out to play

Could you elaborate on this? What is the source of the sound?
Hey N7turbo,

Sorry for the late reply but anyway the sound is something Mazda generates and sends through the audio systems speakers. I don't know where the sound is generated, if it's from microphones or if it's completely synthetic, but when you add a subwoofer to the system (I installed a JBL woofer that mounts to the spare tire) the fake sound booms through the woofer and becomes a problem.

I searched and found info on which wires to snip on the factory amp that lives under the front passenger seat to disable the noise.
