2019 CX-5 2.0 skyactiv-g 165ps sluggish?

Hello peeps, I have recently purchased a 2019 cx-5 2.0 petrol, when driving it feels so sluggish, has anyone else experience this and have you found a solution if any?

I have noticed the inlet pipe is blocked by the grill and plastics on the front end. Has anyone opened this up to increase airflow?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t think you will have any more success here than you did when you asked the identical question on another forum last week, but maybe I’m wrong. Stock airflow into the airbox is not the problem. Since you don’t know anything about how the CX was treated/maintained by previous owners there could be many reasons - if indeed there is anything wrong. A few questions:

- many miles are on the odo
- when was the air filter last changed
- when were the spark plugs last changed
- when was the oil last changed
- how is it driven - short commutes every other day, 3000 miles a month…
- have other CX owners driven yours to compare its power

This may or may not be any help but I would categorize my 2013 2.0L as being sluggish, although I have 10 less HP too. OTOH the engine runs great and smooth all the way up the rev range.
