2015s arriving at dealers (U.S.)

I was at my dealer yesterday to finalize plans for picking up a 2015 S-GT at the end of September and saw that a few 2015 models had already arrived. These were all i models that were produced in Mexico; the S models from Japan will be in within a week or two.

According to my sales guy, there are a few differences. I was only interested in the S models, but he said something about the i models now all having the "same size screen" as the rest of the line but without all of the functionality (not sure exactly what that means). As for the S models, the only difference on the S-GT is that it now has Homelink in the rear view mirror (which it seems it should have had from the get-go). The S has a bigger change in that it now comes with the moonroof; this might make it a more attractive choice, although its base price has obviously gone up. I guess a lot of people didn't want all of the extra stuff that comes with the S-GT, but that was their only choice if they really wanted the moonroof.

So now I just have to wait 5 or 6 more weeks to drive off in my Solar Red S-GT (Almond interior)!

It's been confirmed that the sTouring will get moonroof but no more bixenon/led tail lights. So they'll have halogen while the bixenon/led are reserved for the sGT trims. Plus the price went up a bit so that's kinda odd =/

Good move on Homelink, 'cause it makes me keep two clickers on the visor.
Not sure about the Moonroof. I am sure more people like better headlights than moonroof.

When dealer said less functionalities, one such functionality comes to mind -- navigation.
BTW, it is "Soul Red", not "Solar Red".

And here I thought Mazda was introducing more colors for 2015s........(yupnope)

BTW, it is "Soul Red", not "Solar Red".
I knew that, so either I had a minor brain fade or else my tablet auto-corrected somewhere along the line. And actually "Solar Red" would be a good name since it looks so dazzling in the sunlight!

Last weekend, I got a '14 S Touring over '15 simply because I had to have the LED head/tail lights. I'm in love :). But, this change will give one more justification for '15-on buyers getting the GT over the T.

Also glad to have gotten the '14... I'm not a fan of sunroofs (weight where you don't want it, leaks, plenty of sun from the windows...).

In other words, my '14 is perfect :D (for me).

Looks like all models except the iSV will get the Mazda Connect system with the 7 inch display.
This is a big deal if you wanted an i Touring but otherwise wanted the 7 inch display over the base unit. With the 2014, you needed to get the tech package for that. Now, you get it with rear view camera (which the i Sport does not get).

One other change for the S GTs in '15 is that the almond interior is now available with all the exterior colors instead of just selected ones.

This is actually going to delay my getting a car. When I was at the dealer a month or so ago, talking about waiting for the 2015s to arrive, they happened to have a Blue Reflex car on the floor and I told my salesman "Too bad they don't offer the almond interior with that color or that's what I would want." So I was glad to see that it is now available. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to locate one anywhere "in the Midwest" and said that the next one on order won't be in until December. Bummer, but I can wait...

(If it weren't for my wife having to also drive the car, I would be all set since they actually do have one on the lot, but with a manual tranny!)

Does anyone know if 2016's are going to be available in spring 2015 and if they are going to be any different?
We need to replace the wife's car and I'd like to know if it would be any good to wait until spring.

Since the 14s and 15s were both released in the fall and there will probably be no major changes in the 16s, I wouldn't expect to see them until this same time next year.

I just picked up a '15 S GT (manual) with the blue reflex and almond interior. I was originally looking for white or silver but this is the one the dealer had and the next one in this configuration wasn't coming till mid October... couldn't wait. I've really come to love this color combination and the car is great! It rolls a bit more in a corner than my old car (Kia forte sx), but the overall ride quality totally makes up for that. I've only put 800 miles on the car and so far am getting 35.5 mpg combined. Granted, my drive is about 70% on 65 mph roads, but this seems wildly better than most people report. I've been wringing it out a little in the mid/higher gears but not more than 5.5k rpm ... This car feels much more luxurious than the price suggests. The tech is very nice as well. The dealer regular maintenance pricing, on the other hand, sucks ... $190 for the 5k service which is basically just an oil change and tire rotation. Overall, though, very happy with this car.

That's the color combo I'm waiting for! The dealer just got one in, but it's a manual and I agreed for my wife's sake to get an automatic, so I'll be waiting a couple more months. :-(

Yeah, I was close to going with the auto for the same reason ... but I've been doing that for the last 25 years and she never drives my car anyway so this time I got the manual and love it. From everything I've read, the auto is faster and more fuel efficient, but the stick is really fun!

I think xenon headlight should be starndard for the s model, I do not want a sunroof. I do want the 2.5l.

I went yesterday to Inver Grove Mazda in Mn. yesterday to buy a CX-5 to my wife and the sales manager showed me this beauty and also let me drive the 2.5 6 speed hatch. Amazing, even though I always like hatches more, this sedan looks super sexy... with the appearance package...
