2013 CX5 Low Beam Replacement

Hi everyone, coming to the forum looking for help. I am trying to upgrade my low beam headlights on my Grand Touring to Philips Sharper Vision. For the life of me I cannot find the low beam connectors under the hood. I can see and access the high beam bulb just fine. I have seen a youtube video that shows the low beams should be right next to it but I dont see it. Is it enclosed somehow on the Grand Touring model?? Help!!

The halogen lo beam bulbs are readily accessible on my Sport. I’m guessing you have the HID adaptive headlights if you couldn’t find them on your CX5 (not halogens). See instructions below. Scroll past the halogen lo and high beam instructions to the discharge instructions. Looks like a PITA to replace, those Philips bulbs likely aren’t compatible.

I assume they are the same as my 2014 Touring. The low beam bulbs/connectors are shielded from view and a difficult reach to access. They are level with and to the outside of the high beam bulbs, but are inset a ways and have a curved plastic shield over the top of them that shield them from view. Best bet is to follow the cables and/or get a mirror down there to look from the top.

I swapped mine for HID bulbs and it resulted in a few scratches reaching in to swap the bulbs :)

HID upgrade was the best money I’ve spent on the car yet. Like you said, I beat the hell out of my hands doing the driver side. It didn’t help that the metal flanges on the HID bulbs were a little bent from the factory. Took me 20 min to figure that out. Locked right in place after I straighted them.
