2010 Mazda 3 - Best 5x7 ?

Anyone played around with speaker upgrades for the doors in a 2010 Mazda 3?

I spoke to Crutchfield and they only have one 5x7 speaker that's shallow enough to fit, and it will only fit in the rear doors. (I have the 4 speaker system)

I was hoping to get a bit more bass without adding a sub+amp.

can you fit 5.25" speakers? 5x7" are not as common as say 6x8" or 5.25" sizes. a 5.25" component system will give you a good balance between bass and highs. if you are able to upgrade the head unit, it will provide more power to the crossovers and you may not feel the need for an amp/sub.

Yes, 5.25 speakers also fit, but a 5x7 provides a larger driver for better frequency response.

I really like the head unit, so I'm hoping I don't have to change it out for a long time.
