2009 CX-9 Transmission drain/fill, only a single drain plug (no inner/outer)?

Does anyone know if any of the first gen CX9's came without an inner/outer drain plug setup?

Just bought my '09 in July and started getting some shudder in gears 4-6 between 1,500 - 2K RPM in late October.

Just drained and getting to refill, but found I only had a single (T40) plug

I can't quite get all the way under the car, but can see enough to tell the drain plug came right out of the main body

Also confirmed the expected 17mm hex doesn't fit where I pulled the T40 plug out of, not sure if I'm being a dummy (this would not be unusual) and just missing something, or if I've got a different setup on my new to me ride

Is this an automatic or a manual?
The manual should have two plugs, a drain and a fill. The automatic will have a drain plug on the pan, then you fill it through the dipstick tube.

I've never seen a Mazda with a Torx drain plug though. Every plug I've ever seen has been a regular hex head (like a bolt) or an Allen.

Post a pic of what you're looking at so we can make sure you're on the right thing. You do NOT want to back out the wrong thing!!!
