2008 Mazda CX9 engine broke down with low mileage

2008 Mazda CX9
Long story short, 2008 Mazda CX9 AWD, with only 76000 miles. A loud crack sound in the morning under hook and car/engine vibrated badly briefly and stopped. Stopped the car, the started again and drove another 30 minutes less. Engine overheated and stalled. Checked coolant level, tank emptied. Check oil level looked fine. Check road, no huge wet spots weird. Filled up with new coolants and tried drove back home (less than 5 miles), along the way, coolant emptied and filled with waters afterward like 2 x times. Then finally realized oil turn milky and coolant/water fluid massive leaked under the engine and near by area. Towed to local mechanic shops (couple of them) and they claim engine will need to rebuild or better just get a used one to replace it. Engine still starts, but low compression and will not stay. There were no white smoke from the beginning, but the latest test show white smoke.

I'm trying to get 2nd opinion whether the engine was toasted (new or used engine need) or it is repairable like other things such coolant cooling line and/or oil cooling line component cracks. If it is engine issue the tight to the engine lower block or cylinder block/manifolds (blow head gasket), is this worst to rebuild or replace with used one.

Thanks a lot of any comments or advice. Will upload some pictures when i get chance.

With the noise/vibration you described, it sounds like more than a head gasket issue. Especially with you using coolant at such a quick rate. Did the vibration continue after the first time? Sounds like coolant possibly got on top of a piston and bent a rod. Sounds like a reman engine would definitely be the way to go.

+1 to all of this.

No, coolant was never flushed. Coolant and cooling system was never an issue for the past 7 years until what just happened. The vibration was on and off along the way, not much the last couple mile, but as soon engine above got hot over 50%, engine
