2007 speed6 smoking?

Hey, I just spent a bunch of time reading threw a bunch of post regarding the whole turbo seal smoking issue, and did not notice any 2007s with this problem, now it could have been because not as many 07s are moded yet ect.

It apears some people were able to mod thier cars up without any smoke problems.

I am just curious as to the odds of my car smoking with minor mods (cai, tbe)

soooo, itd be great to know if ( or if not ) you have had problems with smoking on your 07 ms6

I've got an '07 and so far no smoke. Once I get my Corksport DP on, I'll be completely catless so time will tell with me ... got my fingers crossed.

If it smokes I'll put the main cat back on and see if it helps.

yup. supposedly the downpipe creates less back pressure to hold the seal in place, plus the cat burns off any blow-by before it gets to the exhaust.

My car smoked the minute the new DP and exhaust came on, it has a cat so I can safely say the car was smoking but very little and it was being eaten up by the stock parts. How exactly, I don't know.

I have a catted CPE TBE and mine smokes profusely. It didn't for a while but i went out driving really fast and it started smoking immediately after.

Some people dont listen, I posted this prior as well as other individuals have done the same. It is NOT the downpipes causing the smoking, its just makes you see it more due to less restriction/ cats. Some people's issues are the turbos while others including myself have been the engine itself. Their have been several of us that got our engines replaced. If your car is smoking take it to the dealership until it stops...and dont let them try and kill your warranty for a downpipe.

i have a DP with no cats, and my car barely smokes at all even after driving for 4+ hours straight it will let out burst every now and then though. and sometimes when it back fires it puffs a small cloud.

but it never does it bad enough to look bad! like nobody would see it and think my car was broken or anything.

no smoke for me i have a custom turbo back exhaust with a high flow cat and shes never thrown any smoke at all.. maybe im just lucky.. the car has 9800 on it.

okay lol, so yesterday i was canyon cruising all day long. aahh.. lol, anyway on my way down little cottonwood canyon i was coasting in fourth gear, little cottonwood is a very steep windy canyon road btw. anyway i was coasting and my car started to 'babble'..yep babble haha you know! there like little baby backfires kinda. and i happened to look in my mirror at the perfect time to see a fairly thick cloud of smoke poof out. it didn't bother me at all, but a car coming up thought i was on fire LOL. there eyes were huge haha, and they honked and waved behind me haha.
i just threw in the clutch, and let it back out and the smoke stopped. other than that relatively small poof of smoke, i beat a brand new mustang gt with exhaust he was surprisingly quick up the mountain though must have been torque, and i passed a carreraS but he wouldn't really race me. we were just toying with each other, but i think i would have beat him

I remember when I first bought my Acura CLS back in 2002. It was a quick car...had a couple mods. I pulled up to a Carrera 4 and we gave it the eye to eye thing...I floored it, he did to. I may have well have been standing still.

haha! ya i did that same thing when i first got my mustang running. i ran into a twin turbo 911 at an onramp stop light, we did the same eye to eye thing (only i knew he was gonna beat my ass lol) and he kinda smiled like 'i'll give them a little show'. so i launched on him, burned all the way into third before he even moved...never the less within 25 to 30 seconds he was out of sight down the freeway. i remember being so amazed that something could be that damn fast!

Not to de-jack the thread, (talking about rompin Mustangs is SO much fun!) but I've had one instance when someone I know happened to be directly behind me as I ran it thru the gears really hard, they said the car let out some smoke, sounded to me like she was describing second gear. I was really hammering it. Got an 07, bone stock.
