I really hate to do this but I can't justify the total monthly payment (payment and insurance) for this car when I have another vehicle to drive that's paid off. It's a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 Sport with almost 11,000 miles. The color is Black Cherry Mica. The only real blemish on it is a door ding on the driver's side rear door. It has wheel locks, a trunk cargo net, the autodimming rearview mirror with compass and a current Sirius subscription. I also have a set of stock 17" Mazda6 wheels with Michelin snow tires. All open recalls have been performed, as well as the Clutch TSB. I am looking for $22,000 or best offer.

If you were to take over the lease, it could have as many as 24,140 at lease end so that gives you more than 13,000 miles to drive for 10 months/payments. The lease ends October 2, 2008. The payment is about $258 per month. I'm not sure what the lease transfer fee is yet but I will call Mazda Credit to find out. If you were to take over the lease, I would want $500 as a down payment. If you wanted to buy the snow tires/wheels, those would also be $500.

Please let me know if you're interested. Thanks for looking.

man your payment is only $258 amonth and you can't justify it? i pay $495 a month plus insuance. but i did finance..the whole thing

Be careful with someone taking over the lease. Some companies leave the lease under your name and it can reflect your credit in a negative way if the new owner does not pay or is late.

insurance brings it up closer to $400. i can afford the payment but as you can see, i barely drive the thing. i just picked up a used 1994 Ford Ranger that's just sitting in my driveway. i'd rather just drive that and use the money spent on the monthly payment on something else, or just bank it for that matter.

as for the lease transfer, i have paperwork coming from MAC and will look it over carefully before transferring to make sure it won't effect me if the new person defaults on the payments.

Would you be wiling to sell the winter tires/wheels outright? If so, what brand/model/size? What kind of treadlife left? Thanks, look forward to your reply.

PM me the info For a lease Transfer...Are you just wanting to do a straight transfer..?
New buyer take over payments?

I'm just going to keep it.

mods please lock this thread...thanks.

edit: this is the exact reason i won't be transferring the lease to anyone:

i received the paperwork in the mail and it does clearly say that I CAN STILL BE HELD LIABLE FOR PAYMENTS! (hand)

I am interested in the lease will payoff up front

Depending on some details I may be interested in the lease takeover. I do not use credit, so if I did it I would pay the remaining lease up front, so you wouldn't have to worry about me defaulting. I'd be willing to do whatever contracting or proof of payoff that is necessary for you to feel comfortable. Please contact me if you want to discuss it.

I also need the snow wheels/tires.

unless someone wants to buy my car out-right, i.e. no lease take-over, i'm keeping my car. thanks.

How can you sell it outright if you are in a lease? I never thought of that. I'm actually in the same exact spot as you. I have an '07 black MS6 and am considering transferring lease to anyone interested. My monthly payments are approx. $255 and I am considering all options. If you don't mind, could you explain how you can execute an outright sale if you are still in lease.
Thanks in advance.

Say if you straight out transfered to me the payment would still be the same mspeedsix? how does it work? would i have to get financed for the amunt?

Well, nothing will happen if my paperwork has the same fine print as BLUESULTAN's did in regard to me still being liable even after the lease has been transferred. I have to confirm that first. However, if that were not to be an issue, then yes, I'd say you could just take over payments and all terms would be the same.....hence assume the lease. I assume that my lease will mention same condition as BLUESULTAN's did and then assuming the lease isn't an option. However, what I want to know is what he meant by selling the car outright......and how he can do that while still obligated to a lease.

all leases have a residual value (why your payments are less on a lease than buying). As far as I know, all leases have a "buyout" option, it ends up just costing more than if you were to "buy" the car from the beginning (under the stipulation that you are the one who leased the car and then decided to buy it.. lease payments + residual value > than msrp of car)

my lease is through Mazda American Credit. all you have to do is call and ask for the paperwork for a vehicle sale or lease transfer, it's the same. even though you are leasing the vehicle, there is still a payoff amount, which you can get from MAC. make sure you sell it for at least that much, or more if you want a profit.
