2006 Atlanta Region SCCA Autocross Information

Wayne, how'd the MR. 2 like the course yesterday? You with your crazy RWD :p

Depending on size... Falken RT615 Azenis, Kumho MX, Hankook Rs2 Z212, Bridgestone RE01R, Yokohama Advan Neova....

I would have to look up the specs on the tread wear but i am curious as to how the new Nitto Ne01 (i think thats what its called) will perform in the ST class i noticed alot of top tuners are using them in the SCC USCC as an alternative to the r-comps since those are not aloud

It liked it ok. The car was pushing all over the place. Not what you think of with a Spyder. So I'm going to change the set-up for the next event and see if that helps.

I actually only used the brakes twice while on course, so that was pretty exciting. And getting through the down-hill offsets was fun.

Now, the 7 was a blast! It is sooooo much better now than it was a year ago when I drove it last. Heikki has come a long way developing the car, and it is much more manageable now, but it will still bite you in the ass if you're not careful.

I hope to drive it some more the rest of the season to help him tweak it and such.

Criteria: Cheap and sticky. I miss the Azenis Sports.
I know where you can get a set, already mounted.

They're in my store room...

Yeah, you've got two of them, but what am I supposed to put on the other end of the car?

Man i sure do miss the old Azenis 215s. They were a lot better IMO for autox, but the new tire is still pretty great. It holds its grip consistency a lot better, not to mention it has a more quiet ride (i hated the hurricane noise of the 215s!)

I'm probably going to throw on a set of RS2s on the pro for STS and try them out.

Yes, you have 4. Two are mostly worn out, though!

It's a shame you can't fit 14's on P5's. I'd get some tiny 5 luggers and just swap the tires over from my current race wheels!

you can fit 14s on the P5 :)

....with the brake calipers + discs removed.

heh, 14" miata wheels work for me... still have yet to see a p5 fit 14's.

All around the 615 is a better tire. Better traction, better heat resistance, better hydroplaning resistance, lighter and just as equal grip across a wider range of temps.

I agree, its much better all around, the only gripe i have with the new one is a less capable turn in thanks to a slightly softer sidewall, hence the reason i miss the 215 for autox
