2006 2.3l Mazda 6 ran fine then instantly won't start.

I have a 2006 Mazda 6 2.3l 4 cylinder.

It's been running perfectly fine, no rough idles, no rough rides. Smooth as silk.

I came home from the holidays and unloaded my car. 2 hours later I went to go to the store and it won't crank. It sounds healthy when turning over and the lights and everything electrical works fine so it makes me think it's not the battery.

I doubt it's the spark plugs either as surely they wouldn't all die at the same time.

So we're narrowing it down to a fuel pump, sensor, or security system issue.

Any suggestions?

Any way to reset the anti-theft system so I can rule that out?

Thanks!

I really suck at electrical.. but, i think if it were just a fuel pump it would still turning over, but not run.. is there any power on anywhere?? my first obvious guess is the battery then fuses.. are there any CELs?? thats what the Dashawk does very well.. maybe another member can test?? otherwise its time for a mechanic.. electric gets complicated if youre unsure.. and unplugging the battery can reset some things.. i dont know about the alarm?? (dunno) worth a try..

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I've checked battery, tried to boost, checked all fuses I could find, put gas in it.

So I have no idea. I really want to reset the anti-theft to make sure that's not it, but I can't find out how to do that on the web ANYWHERE! Ugh. :(

my first thought was the battery, with the weather and the downtime between drives but it sounds like you have covered that. fuel would be the next thing, either not enough in the tank, or it is not being delivered. if the car is cranking and not turning over, then that means the cylinders are not firing, usually meaning it is not getting fuel. pump or a sensor for sure. let us know.
