So, I have a 2004 mazda3. The factory installed head unit doesn't have a proper aux line. However the post 2006 face lift head units do have an aux line. So I bought me a 2nd hand post face lift head unit. And when I connect it it works: I can connect my phone and play music from it, hurrah.
But...The display thingie is connected to the control panel of the old head unit. The new head unit has the mounts to attach the display, but the control panel doesn't have the connector for the plug from the display. Anyone know why/how that is? Doesn't the newer head unit also need the display to see what you're doing?
