2003.5 Mazdaspeed?! The 2003's were just released.......

When are the 2003.5s coming out? I saw a photo of the Titanium, and wow!! I was planning on buying a black 2003 this weekend. I don't believe this!! I wonder if I should wait now. And, will the 2003.5s be much more or the same price?

I'm trading in my '99 Nissan SE Limited, and the longer I wait, the less I will get in trade - damn!!

Any ideas on the 2003.5 release date? Thanks.

Thanks! I will be watching the forum tomorrow for any updates regarding this. I'm in Tennessee, so the release dates will most likely, be different.

Total; there have only been 4 2003 Mazdaspeeds in the area, I think. And soon,,the 2003.5? Unbelievable.

Are the only changes cosmetic?

seems to be all cosmetic, except rear muffler.....well that's kinda cosmetic too but it does apparantly make a deeper sound

Not quite, there are no fog lights. The rest are cosmetic: spoiler, front and rear bumpers, exhaust tip, and the pedals and shifter say "mazdaspeed" instead of "sparco."

Oh, and yellow stitching on the seats and steering wheel instead of orange.

I'm pretty sure that's everything.

What to do,,,,what to do.........

Any new owners that have an orange or black one, wish they would have waited (not knowing what was on the horizon)? As I get ready to purchase (not knowing a release for the 2003.5), I'm trying to decide what to do. I like the new 2003.5 look. The addition of fogs would be good, but the front looks nice as it is. The rear wing....well; it's clean - unique. Says: World Rally Car!

Of course; they are making more of the 2003.5s, so there is certain uniqueness to the 2003s. If the mechanicals are unchanged, I may stick with my plan, and buy the black one this weekend. Man! I just don't know.

Yup, the 2003.5s will not be as limited as the 2003s. I forget the exact numbers, but I think it's like 1250 yellow and 1250 titanium just for the USA, then some more for Canada.

2003s are 600 orange and 1250 black for the USA, plus 250 orange for Canada.

There probably wont be many people who say they regret having bought the 2k3 instead of the 2k3.5 since they did not know what was on the horizon as the 2003.5 msp along with its colors and differences has been being discussed here for at least a month now i think....

im in the same boat as AGR.
But I already have everything worked out to pick up the car on monday.
Only thing is now that i've seen the 03.5s I like the color and styling more than the 03s so now im seriously considering waiting...I just want to know how long I would have to wait, but no one seems to know.

An optimist would think that they would be here around early summer. The delays with our first wave MSP's were due to several factors - nothing confirmed by Mazda but we heard about the Longshoremen strike, the piping issue and the lengthy dealer introduction process. Arguably, all of these factors are cleared up so next time around the process should go alot quicker.

Further, Mazda does not want to clutter the RX-8 launch, and the quicker they can get another 3000 MSP's to market the quicker the car can begin making money for them - I doubt they have hit the necessary economies of scale to make any money on the MSP's. Any later than the summer and they'd be 2004's!

They will be here early summer. That's all I can say. I've been sworn to secrecy and they threatened to take away my orange speed if I said any more. And it's 100% Guaranteed that Canada is getting Grey.

Don't ask anything else, I can't tell you. Don't bother asking dealers because they don't know, and won't know until later. My source is not a dealer, someone WAY higher up.


Remember this date, because I wanna say I told you so later on I'm waiting for something to happen, can't say what, but once it's done I can tell you everything.

And as for the orange ones left, no surprise, the hose is what's still holding them up....and it will remain to because the new suppllier can't make them fast enough. It's not their fault as they didn't know they had to make them until very recently.

Remeber, I'm in Canada!

Just rest assured that Canada is getting grey. I don't mean to be a asshole about this, but I have a good reason as to why I'm not saying anything at this point. And who knows, Maybe what I've been told is just another bunch of BS from Mazda of Ca.

To those wondering if the cars are getting here early summer or Oct-Nov 2003'ish..... Early Summer is when. Of course, unless there is another delay in the damn hoses or something else breaks before then. I just thought you guys would want to know at least that much.

SUPER!!!! We know it's the turbo water hose holding things up, we know the 3.5s will be here in early summer. We just have to make up our minds: orange, black, yellow or gray.

I'm sticking with the black one I have on order. I like the wing better, I like the foglights, I like the color, .....
AND I'D LIKE MY CAR SOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!

i dont think the release of the 2003.5s is weird at all. Some car manufacturers are introducing 2004s before the 2003.5 msp will be out.....and its not like they are on trucks on their way to dealerships, they are just at car shows and in production. 2003.5s arent really "here" they are just in the process of being made.
