Hey everyone, I have a naturally aspirated 1987 Mazda RX-7. I have had this issue off and on for a while now, but lately it is doing it all the time. When you start the car it runs and revs perfectly for 5-10 seconds, and after that it idles fine, but will not rev over 1500 rpms. I tested the fuel pressure and it pegged the gauge out at 10 psi (old gauge). Also the electrical system is running at 14 volts as you can see on the gauge. Battery is fine and the headlights burn brightly, leading me to believe the alternator is working well. Catalytic converted was removed by a previous owner. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance for the help (2thumbs)

Fixed it. Turns out the throttle position sensor was stuck. The outer plunger was free but it didn't have any springiness, so I sprayed some WD-40 in it and tapped it on the ground, now it works perfectly and the car revs up to 8k no problem. Hope this helps somebody in the future.
