46 lbs??? Are you sure about that? The stock setup is only 27 lbs. I don't see how it could jump that much. (scratch)

27lbs? Are you sure about that? The stock 17"s were 22lbs and the stock 17" Goodyear RSA were 22lbs which totals 44lbs.

The RX8 rims are 22lbs and the Kumho ASX are 24lbs.

Are Canadian pounds different or something? There's no way my tires weigh that much. I've never put them on a scale but they sure don't seem that heavy. (dunno)

Hahaha...I'm pretty sure the Canadian and American stock 17" rims and tires are the exact same. The stock 17" combo is 44lbs to 45lbs as many have confirmed on other forums. So 46lbs is well within range.

If your total combo was 27lbs...thats amazing...your car would be really FAST.

Damn... now I'm going to have to go home and weigh my wheels.

hey Raptor, could you weigh your stock rims and take a picture like you did with the RX-8 rims?

also... since technically you're not increasing your rotating mass by much.. the suspension should feel the same except for a bit more harshness transmitted through the shorter sidewalls, correct?

I can't weigh my stock rims and tires anymore because I don't have them anymore. But the number of 45lbs total for the stock 17" rim with rubber is pretty much an agreed number with people from M3F.

I'm going to be honest with you guys and tell you that so far the ride quality feels the same. My girl asked me if the new wheels were supposed to feel different, cuz she doesn't feel a difference at all. (2thumbs)

I still have to check what psi they are right now as I just put them on from the shop and didn't check out the psi.

The weight issue struck my interest. If anyone honestly weighs their wheels (which someone should) then please post. I have stock 16's and may weigh them just out of curiosity now if I get some time after the semester.

rb - You know you're gonna have pics of that right!
Oh yeah...It'll be the first 3 with a Sportline drop and OEM RX8 wheels. At least to my knowledge.

Just curious, maybe you have mentioned this before, but why havent you put the wheels on yet? Maybe if its gonna be longer you should try to do a photochop of it and post that. I am anxious!

(scratch)

The very first post shows a picture of the wheels on, with a link to even more.

Or did you mean rbmazda3's? I can't imagine they would look much different.

Well, yeah, I meant rbmazdas, sorry. I know it will look virtually the same, but I bet the sportline drop rb has will give it a slighlty different, more agressive look maybe.
