Do you think it can be done? Im gonna try to be the first to do it but what do you think it will take mod wise to get there? Heres blkzoomzoom's formula for 13.1...

3" exhaust w/3" highflow cat,(homemade, turbo-back)
Co2 intercooler sprayer, (homemade)
Motor mounts (front and rear)
ported throttlebody, (homemade)
coolant bypass from throttlebody, (homemade)
ice-water pump through t.b.- (homemade)
k&n panel filter,
wrapped the exhaust manifold w/headerwrap, (homemade)
wrapped the upper intercooler with heat insulation,(homemade)
modified fcd,
Boost controller,
rear spring spacers, (homemade)
light weight flywheel,
act street performance clutch,
slicks
mpi tuner
plenty of sensor tricks......

stock motor, turbo, intercooler, and plastic pipes.

Im thinking head work, a ported intake and exhaust manifold, and maybe intercooler added to the list should get me there. <!-- / message --><!-- sig --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

You put a perrin intercooler on and a good a/f map in and it is def. possible. However you may only get one or two runs before the rods fold in half. Nothing can change the fact that the rods are weak.

And yes it was the stock turbo, It was never out of the car until the stock motor blew (which was 4 runs after the 13.15)

So basically you could be running 12's pretty easily with BlkZoomZoom's recipe, an upgraded intercooler, internals, and fuel control.

thats what it looks like! Also you may want to add a lsd to the list too because I dont think that will be lasting long either.

Yea I will be upgrading to a mpi soon because there is no way I will run 14psi without some type of timing control (thumb)

blkzoomzoom did you do any weight reduction? Also what kind of ideas do you have for traction and launching? That will be key to hitting those times

It won't be "easily" but it can be done. Brian is also a very good driver. Basically, you'll need a miracle.

exactly! race engines were designed to the max to throw a rod after the finish line. If you stress the engine it won't last long....

it is VERY possible.... with slicks and a decent driver. you would need to trap 104-105 and get a 1.860ft to get there.

mike... just say NO.

Stock turbo... yes i think so. Stock internals? They might last a run or two but i wouldnt bet the farm. Bring a trailor with ya to the track and have a spare block ready!

buy a $150 methenol injection system and your motor might actually last. Wesman did a few 15psi runs without an EMS and lasted with his I believe. If you have race gas AND Methenol injection, you sure as hell wont be detonating. Make sure everything is mint, colder copper plugs are a must. Drive like you dont care about the tranny or your tires, make sure your spare and sub enclosure are out of the car and the gas light is on.
