1100 mile road trip complete!!

Drove from Lexington, KY to Pittsburgh, then up to Erie, PA. Rented a 6x12 trailer in Erie, drove back to Pittsburgh, then back to Lexington, KY with the trailer. My rotors officially hate me. Other than that, the 9 was a champ!

I was a little worried as my hitch attachment was rated @ 3500 lbs but only rated for 300lbs of tongue weight, so I had to make sure and get the 60/40 load distribution perfect, and take into consideration the weight already in the back of the 9 (luggage and such). Checked the welds on the attachment every time we stopped, as I had a piano, dining room table, 8 chairs, lots of tools, cabinet, another table, and a bunch of other crap weighing down the trailer. No problems!

CX-9 tow rating is 3500lbs, derived from the thickness and strength of the rear unibody rails. Factory hitch is rated @ 3500lbs. I have seen a class III hitch (5000lbs) on a CX-9 which is a bad idea because you still are not supposed to tow beyond the rating of the vehicle. You are also limited to the rating of your receiver attachment. My attachment happens to be 3500 tow, but only 300lbs of direct tongue weight.
