1.8-2.0 turbo

hey i currently drive 03 2.0 automatic pro and i was wondering since im going with a hiboost turbo would you consider it smart to replace my fs for the fp 1.8 ( 99-00 ) from what i understand its a quick revving motor better on the high end of the rpm range and is able to handle boost alittle bit better then the fs..i was going to save up for a forged setup but its cheaper to swap to the fp motor...also anybody know what the 1.8 handles on stock internals i just hear it holds more never heard how much..thanks

I owned a 00 with the 1.8, and I can say compared to my MP3 now, it did seem to pull harder to redline. The 2.0 motor seems to give up just a little at the end. As far as swapping, I'd save up for the forged stuff. It'll be much better in the long run. If you're going hiboost kit (my plans too) then you're looking to put out over 200 whp. If you end up wanting more, then it's all about psi. You don't want to run high psi on the 9.1:1 pistons in the 1.8L
