1.6L auto tranny...How much power?

I have an opportunity to build a turbo kit for my '00 Protege, but I've been hesitant in taking the chance since I have an auto tranny. Exactly how much power can the auto tranny take in these cars? I'm not looking to build a beast, but just something modest. Maybe 8-10 PSI tops. I know Lentech makes beefed up auto trannies, but I've never run across one installed on a Protege, just a Focus. I'm not sure how different Focus trannies are from the Proteges, but I guess that would require some seperate research.

sorry am a noob at turbos.. lol how can you install a turbo on a automatic pro. i also have the 2000 pro. model.

if you are a noob the last thing you want to do is try and install a turbo system. Go to a library and take out "maximum boost" by corky bell and "how to tune and modify engine management systems" by Jeff Hartman. once you have read them you should have a pretty thorough understanding of what you need to do. if you still cannot figure something out post back.
