1.6 hesitation problems

Hi there,

I have a 2002 1.6 canadian spec, my problem is hesitations between 2 000 and 3 000 rpm from 3 000 to the redline no problems at all. Obviously i,ve done the basic, spark,air filter, clean the maf valve even an update of the ecu at the dealership but the problem is still there. When the engine is cold ( 0 to -15 F in winter) it is quite bad less so with a warm engine.

No troubles codes at the dealership and they doesn't know what to do

Any ideas thank in advance

do u have a stock intake? or are you running a cold air or short ram intake?

I have a stock intake but even if it's not there i have the same problem.
I don't want to discard the stock intake because there is mixed reviews about how effective on a low hp engine like that apart going turbo $$$

what do u mean when its not there? like u have removed it from the throttle body?

No, meaning i've taken out the plastic intake up to the air filter box , you can put that part easily out and i've put sort of a pipe to get cold air from the outside but to no avail still i have these hesitations worse when the engine is cold (quebec city)

I had the same problem... I changed the spark plugs and everything was fine again...
