So I joined these forums a long time ago when my wife was looking at buying a Mazda3. Well she finally did, we got a 09 Mazda3 i-touring value 4-door. Nothing fancy like the speed3, but it fits her life style. Anyway so one of the options we were looking at was the factory remote start. Frankly I think it sucked. It would only start the car when you were 400ft away. So I started looking at aftermarket units. I bought a Viper 5900 system for my SVT Contour and absolutely love it. However I'm not sure if I can use the same system on my wifes new car. Obviously the system needs a PATS bypass unit to get around the chipped keys to have the remote start function work. My question is which one will work for the 09 Mazda3? I've heard that DEI's 1100F will work, it's the same one I use on my car. However I haven't been able to confirm this yet. I searched the forums and saw that DEI's universal unit, the 556u was recommended, but to use it you had to forfeit a spare key. This is not something I want to do. Does anyone know which immobilizer bypass unit I can use?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
