05 Volvo S40 sedan and S50 sport wagon

Volvo will be building the next s40/S50 on the Mazda3 chassis. I found this on autoweek.com.

I don't care for Volvos but I do like this car. I even like the current model S40 which by the way is a Mitsu Carisma.

Nice engine, but the tails look bad, as they do on the current model.

I think I read somewhere that the S40 will be offered with AWD too. I wonder if Mazda will offer the 3 with AWD in the future.

Why is there a TV remote stuck to the dash? It looks like they stretched the entire dash down toward the shift knob and tried to fill the space with some miscilaneous dials. Nasty.

Maybe I am blind, or something but did they save 5(FIVE) cyl engine??? :wtf: when did that one happen??

p.s./edit: What is the advantage, and disadvantages of a 5 cyl vs 4 or 6 cyl???

Theres a few Volvos that have 5 cyls.
