04 MS3 sqweaking noise

When I ride down the road I can hear a sqweaking noise coming from the rear of the car when I go over bumps. What should I check? I pushed down on the bumper to make the car bounce some to try to duplicate the noise and I cant. It only does it going down the road. I can hear it inside and outside the car. It seems to be getting more frequent also. Ideas?

First of all if this is a 2004 model this is not a MS3. I owned and M3 5 door 2004 and yes I did get the same noise in the front only. I believe it was the bushings but I never confirmed with Mazda as I traded it in for the MS3...hehe

I do believe there's a TSB for this....

I believe it has something to do with the control arms...thats with the fronts though for sure.

I took it in and they are telling me it's the rear left shock. Is there a bushing attached to the shock that might be bad? 58k miles on the car btw. Can I only get the shocks at the dealer? They are saying it'll be about $300 to replace both rear shocks. Are these the best shocks to put on it? KYBs

you can buy mazdaspeed shocks...or koni...those would be better. But unless your are running lowering springs or plan on running them...stock should be fine
