    12V Power Supply

This is a super old thread but I'm running into the same question hard wiring a radar detector. I plan to use a fuse splitter or fuse tap if I can use one of the empty fuse spots. Are all the fuses 12v? I have 0 experience with car electrical

    Head Unit

Looking for a head unit for the girlfriends protege5 (we both drive p5s, daww). Criteria are, cheap, ipod or aux input. Figured I would check here before craigslist ect. If it is already wired for a p5 that's a big bonus. Cheers, Mike

protege5 coilovers or shocks/struts and short shifter

I'm hoping to do some work to the protege5 over thanksgiving break when I will have access to the proper tools. My struts are on their way out so it seems like a good time to upgrade the suspension and give it a bit of a drop. In an ideal world I would like to put on coil-overs, but I'm not sure...

Hopefully I wont be inxing myself for posting this too soon, but 2000 miles or so into the drive back to mass things are looking good. It's been a major downer crusing back east, but I should make it back to Montana in a couple years. Here she is in North Dakota Hopefully I can clean her up...

Thanks for the replies. I'm in search of some less shiny 17" rims, not a chrome fan here. I think major engine and suspension mods will have to wait until I'm back on the east coast. But I think working on the stereo could be fun, the car has an aftermarket alpine head unit but the rest of it...

Well, I've already done a DIY cold air intake. I suspect I'll buy another set of alloys for snow tires. I would like to do some light mods to increase mpg and power, but I'll be driving the car from MA to montana for the year come fall so reliability is key. Any suggestions? Thanks - Mike

Advice needed: missing air box doohickey

Hey all, I test drove a protege5 today and really loved the car. It has been mechanic owned and appears to be in good rust-free condition. The only flaw i could find was that the black box at the very front of the engine was missing. Thelong horizontal one with what look like two intake holes...
