So, does anyone know what effect they have on cars that have not been lowered. I would assume that they will reduce the camber at the rear but by how much I have no idea.

I have the option to buy a new set for a pretty good price. My main concern is will they actually fit on the rims. I realize it will not be the ideal set-up but it may just improve my set-up for Autox.

I should proof read my threads when I start them, I am actually looking at fitting a set of 245/40r18s on my stock rims. 225s fit no problem.

Sounds to me as though you may have a coil over set-up if it is sitting that low. If it is you should be able to adjust it to get back some height and maybe smooth out the ride a little. However, if you have the factory style shocks then changing just the springs would bring it back to stock...

I am looking for a set of stock rims for autox, I would consider 17" also given that there seems to be a lot more used 17" autox tires available. I am looking to stay in the stock class so anything that would not qualify would probably not work for me.
