Ok. Does anyone know what generally causes these trans to grind from 4th to 5th gear over time? One mechanic told me it was probably a worn synchro. In wich case... is it better to swap or rebuild?

How difficult would it be to fit? Is it doable? My TII has grinding from 4th to 5th gear... seems like it'd be a pain to rebuild the tranny trying to fix it- easier to replace... so- why not upgrade. Any suggestions?
