I bought a sport demo and there were no key codes when they delivered it. Ford dealership I got it from said the code was the last 6? digits of the VIN. Is that true?

Thanks! I did my homework, but got lucky on this deal. I bought it from a Ford dealership that had bought some cars from a Mazda dealership that closed. The credit union thought it was a good deal too as they put down $23k for the value of the car when I signed the papers.
