thanks guys. I figured it was "negligence" issue (probably my fault for being in a hurry the last time I swapped snow tires). Good news: the local Tire Discounters removed/replaced the lug for $42.....

sorry, it was late when i posted.... i meant the actual lug bolt is stipped. The nut won't back off without alot of effort and is clearly cross-threaded..... yeah, i figured it was not something that mazda would deal with...

does anyone know if a stipped lugnut will be covered under warranty or is this a "wear & tear" type of issue..... ??? i'm debating on waiting to take the MS3 to the dealer on Mon. or just letting the local TireDiscounters/NTB deal with it.... any input is much appreciated.... -xu
