Is there an expansion tank or something similar that deals with thermal expansion of the brake fluid? If so, how does it work? How quickly does it adapt when the fluid cools back down? Thanks...

I had brake problems on my Maxima that sounded like that. It wasn't obvious that it was the brakes though. The proof was it went away when you put on the parking brake a little.

The brake fluid is full, and I didn't see any leaks. I took it in for its first service a couple weeks ago, otherwise no monkeying around. It doesn't sound like the "break something so I'll have to come back" since they haven't said anything needs to be fixed. :(
