Yeah, that sounds like a different issue for sure. I posted on another forum and someone suggested swapping the plugs as they are original (78k miles). I did the front ones and it looks like I need to pull the entire intake manifold to get to the back ones... that will be this weekend and not...

Never mind... I took off the cover and found the coil packs east to remove. It looks like I will need to remove the intake manifold to get to the back ones... that is going to be a joy. Any idea as to what the gap needs to be for a 2004 Mazda6 3.0L?

No... once started it idles just fine.

In the past month it has taken longer than normal but nothing like today where I held the key and after 2-3 seconds it did not start. Round two it fired right up. It did the same thing when I left work. I live in Southern California so it was 70 or so this morning and 85 or so in the afternoon...

No CEL and no to the tune up. All I have done is oil changes and two air filters in 70k. I guess I'll take it to the dealer and pay the $75 for the diagnotics or whaterver it costs. Thanks for the respone and I'll re-post when I find out whatever it is...
