Pulled battery, now no Cruise Control

Stevemaye - The switch is on the under side of the steering wheel under the CC paddle controls but more towards the center of the streering wheel spoke.

Pulled battery, now no Cruise Control

OMG! What a Bone Head!!! Went home Friday and found that theres an "on/off" button under the CC paddle controls! In the past I've wondered why this car did not have the on/off switch like the other Japaneese cars I've owned. I've even tapped it while driving in the past, but without seeing it...

Pulled battery, now no Cruise Control

Psylence - Brake lights OK, I'll check the vacume lines, but would think engine performance would be erratic if there was a leak. Concerning this quote from the trread you refered to: "My cruise stopped working too. Nothing would happen when I tried to set it. No indicator light or anything. I...

Pulled battery, now no Cruise Control

I don't have the manual in front of me now, but if I recall correctly, there is no specific fuse for the CC, right? Is the CC relay in the engine compartment's fuse box?

Pulled battery, now no Cruise Control

ucMP3 - Yes, checked both fuse boxes. Pulled every one and inspected. I was reading another tread that suggests that a wiring connector in the area could have come loose. I'll have to check since I took the battery, tray and everything else out for cleaning. Could have knocked it loose maybe.

Pulled battery, now no Cruise Control

I pulled and cleaned the battery on my '03 P5 last week to prepare for winter. When I got it re-installed the alarm went crazy, but I was able to reset it w/keyfob. Now, I noticed I haven't got any cruise control. Checked fuses and all seem to be OK. Does anyone know what's wrong or the...

    Knock knock knocking

OK, this is going to sound stupid. Shane was most correct thus far re: a weight may have fallen off. I noticed the end of an object in the tires's outer rib yesterday. Turned out to be a 1/4" screw ~1" long. Added weight! So had that tire patched and balanced, but put it on the rear...

    Irregular rotor wear?

Noticed someting new - the left front rotor on my P5 appears to be being used on the outer 1 1/2" of the outboard rotor face. The inner ~1" is rusty - not being touched by the brake pads. Haven't seen what is happening on the inner surface. Can a rotor be warped like a cone as opposed to the...

    Knock knock knocking

Rabid - By "veer" do you mean just turning the steering wheel slightly to take up the slack, just on the verge of changing direction - or - going around a corner on 2 wheels? Seems that when in the "neutral" streering position, the knock is very faint as compared to when the steering wheel is...

    Knock knock knocking

I think that the inside flange is conventional, so it can accept the crimp on weight, but the outer is a "flangless" design. Yeah, if someone tried to put a crimp weight onthe outside flange, he'd had better find a new profession. If your flange mounted wheel weight hits the strut, you've got...

    Knock knock knocking

Shane- No, haven't checked for wobble/excessive play yet - buried in snow & ice (ain't winter great?) yesterday and today thus far. But, Monday and Tuesday I did remove all 4 tire/wheel assemblies. Basically, a SOP to clean these up before getting a flat and not being able to change on the...

    Knock knock knocking

Shane - Yes, I noticed that originally from the marks and corrosion areas on the rim that rim flange weights were used on the inboard side (probably prior to new tires being mounted). But now there are none, only the stick-on center rim weights (applied near the inboard side of the spokes). Do...

    Difference between MP3 & P5?

What are the differences between the stock 2.0L P5 engine and the MP3? Can the P5 engine have it's pcm reflashed (or chipped) to pick up the 10 HP increase of the MP3?

    Knock knock knocking

Flagship - No, it's the other way - gets louder the faster I go. But not too much louder, just form "can I hear something" to "what's that noise" as far as the warble is concerned. The bearing may be something to look into. If the wheel is wobbling, that would drive the rack and knock into the...

    Knock knock knocking

Feels like more of a lateral input. I think a missing wheel weight would cause more of a vertical disturbance, but I can have the balance checked. But at about 35-40 were the noise (warble, knocking) becomes perceptable, there is a knocking sound and sensation in the steering wheel. Maybe...

    Knock knock knocking

I have an issue just surface in my Protege5. Noticed at about 40mph upwards I have a tackle knock felt through the steering wheel and a sort of warble sound occuring at the same frequency. Obviously speed related and maybe outboard of the transmission - when I disengage the tranny while...
