Commonality of wheel bearing requiring replacement on 2008

Thanks - I'll have a look back at the service records and see if that was replaced. Anybody else have to change out bearings around this time just from normal wear and tear?

Commonality of wheel bearing requiring replacement on 2008

Hi guys, Haven't really been on here since 2009 (I think). Just a sign that I'm loving my 3 ('08 GT, 96K) and it's performing well! In March of this year I hit the ditch - covered by insurance, 4K worth of damage not including both passenger rims bent to crap, tires ruined etc. All damage...

    HID Rear License Plate Lense

Cool white. They're not at all like HID's you know. They are basically like those LED Christmas lights you can get. They can come in all of those colors - red, blue, green, purple, as well as cool and warm white. It's not like they work with a 'temperature' rating like the HID's do.

    HID Rear License Plate Lense

Yes, I'm quite sure that the OP means LED's. I did mine and it does look great. The only thing is the LED's came with two different colors - one is a warm white and one is a cool white so it looks a bit wonky if you really concentrate on it. I am in the process of getting another set. In case...

how to get rid of the governor!

What? I've never heard this before. I know that the on-star vehicles are GPS tracking capable, but nobody I know of is going to provide GPS tracking without a fee of some sort. Please inform me if I am wrong, but this is the first I've heard of it.

mazda3, the epitome of versatility: a floorboard thread

I can't believe your guys' dealers didn't show you this when you got it. Did they go over any other features? My dealer went through every little thing with me. Most things I knew, some things I learned (including this trunk bit), and some things I taught him. Even though it was pretty silly...

    Need mirror help!

Bring it back and tell them to do it. Sorry, I don't have any more info other than this, and I'm sure it's not particularly helpful to you...

    HID Bulbs/Fogs

I see what you mean. I was under the impression the question was whether there was a difference in the headlight housing when using HID lights as a replacement for halogens. But yes, the housing for the HID factory projector lights are D2S (I believe) whereas the housing for the halogen/hid...

    I believe it's actually 4300K.

    HID Bulbs/Fogs

There should be no difference for HID vs halogen housing. In fact, HID's burn cooler than halogens so you don't need to worry about any kind of heating/melting issue. The bulb itself will be only slightly different in shape than a halogen, but will fit just fine (if you get the correct kit)...

    AC on Recirc

Mine is like that too. Also I find my AC is pretty weak - it takes quite a while to get cool and it only gets just that - cool, never cold. Ideas? *edit: I know I have seen this issue (cool AC) somewhere else on the boards but I searched for it and couldn't find it - sorry

    Day time running lights

Yep - Canadian Tire has a pretty cheap kit for that. And any dealer will tell you it costs and exorbitant amount of money. Registrar of imported vehicles is also online and you can find that info. r i v . c a

    Importing Mazdaspeed from US

I would be willing to pay a nominal amount more as we do pay higher taxes in Canada, but the discrepancy is much more than 'nominal'. Yes, I agree they are ripping us off. I know of 2 people - one on this forum and one on a different one, who have imported Speed3's from the states in the last 6...

MAJOR electrical problem after trying to install HID's

Were you doing bi-xenon? Unless you were doing bi-xenon, you don't actually need to do a battery wiring harness. The single beam HID kits are generally plug and play. I did mine without even disconnecting my battery. Sounds like (as discussed previously) you fried the BCM (body control module...

HID Head Lights for 2008 Mazda 3 Sport

The HID kit I got works great. I have low beam HID's stock, so only had to do my high beams. It was super easy. The kit itself should include 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts, and all the hardware (screws, zip ties, etc.). It's a simple plug and play kit. You plug the light input into the ballast and the...

    Spotted: White Speed3 in Edmonton

I spotted a White Speed 3 at 4:45 yesterday (the 11th of June) on 99 Street just south of Whyte ave. You honked, pointed (to my '08 white hatch 3), and said 'nice car!'. I pointed and said back 'nicer car!'. Are you on here??

    Recall on power locks?

Yes, on anything built before Jan 1, 07 as far as I know. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123658749

    Day light

Daytime running lights are half voltage high-beams. There's a pretty cheap module you can get up here from Canadian Tire for older cars, but I'm sure there must be some kind of similar store down there that might carry something like that. It's not a legal requirement down there as far as I...

    HID fogs finally installed

Yes, I am brave with the zip-ties, but I also zip-tied the mounting holes on the bottom and on the top so they aren't going to slide out. You just can't really see them. I head out to my parents several times per week and they live in back country as well. I have so far noticed no problems...
