I think I will go the route of an aftermarket pipe with the lower cat already mounted. I don't mind spending a little money if I can get some good aftermarket parts, I just didn't want to take it up the tailpipe for $2700 from the Mazda dealership. Thanks for the reply and offer TWISFM.

Upper Cat Thank you for replying to my thread on the P5 cat converter dealership price gouging. How many miles do you have on the upper cat that you have for sale? I wouldn't need the exhaust manifold, though.

I just got quoted, from Mazda dealership, $2700 to replace the upper and lower catalytic converters that are bad on my P5. The upper converter, off the exhaust manifold, is around $800 ($583 from mazda-parts.com) and the lower one down the pipe is quoted at $1000. Does anyone have insight on...

Forgot to add another symptom Another symptom I've had on my '02 P5 is what sounds like a rapid exhaust leak coming from the area below the passenger seat floorboard when I really romp on the throttle and load the engine to 5-6K rpm in any gear. Hope this gives a little more clue to someone.

Thanks for the suggestions. With all the 5's out there with aftermarket wheels already on them, I thought someone may have a set of the stock wheels sitting in their garage. Finding one stock wheel sounded the easiest but it's turning out not to be so.

Would anyone happen to have a factory wheel for a 2002 Protege 5 they would like to sell? I've got one out of round due to curb, pot hole or whatever got in the way. It's an aluminum 5 spoke with a chrome looking finish. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Steve
