    Mazdaspeed6 odometer

Can someone tell me if the mileage on the MS6 is stored in the ECU or if its just mechanical like most cars? I broke my odometer when painting the inside of my gauge cluster and want to replace it, will the mileage automatically update when I put the new odometer cluster in?

What kind of gas mileage are you getting?

I can make it from Chino Hills, CA to Las Vegas on 3/4 of a tank of gas averaging a speed of 85mph. I think thats pretty good! I would assume thats about 26mpg.

    Power Steering - more assistance?

I had an A4 previously, the steering was TOO powerful!!! Sometimes when getting wild on the Malibu canyon roads you would almost over correct yourself right into a wall. haha I think the steering resistance is just fine. Oh,and in my A4 I actually pulled the fuse that manages the power...

    MS6 or Volvo S60R??

And deathly fast with its inline 6 twin turbocharged RWD engine and low curb weight. Gotta love it!

for all the folks who owned the speed6

I wish they would just give you credit/money towards buying a turbo of your choosing. Obviously this car is not equipped with the correct/efficient turbo it should be.

    cp-e FMIC pics!

Because its then easier to install a FMIC, change/work on your turbo, plus heat from the turbo is facing the front.... Ever seen how clean a turbo install looks on a Honda/Acura?

Looking to get a CAI... any recommendations?

If you are planning on a turbo upgrade or FMIC in the future I would hold off and not waste the money of the CAI.

    cp-e FMIC pics!

I wish Mazda had the motor installed backwards like Honda so the turbo and piping can hang towards the front of the car.

    3076R Install

Wow, some people need to go back to school. Boost pressure should be measured at the manifold and regardless of the turbo size, 18psi = 18psi.... You should read Corky Bell's book Maximum Boost. Here is a link for some good reading http://www.stealth316.com/2-turboguide.htm

    My custom FMIC

I am not saying you cant just do that, that would be OK. But why not get something that will also increase your performance as well since you are already spending money.

    Which Turbo Timer MSP6???

They all do the same thing, idle the car. I personally don't care all that much for them though.

    My custom FMIC

Well, usually by learning from others mistakes or making these mistakes on your own till you find the correct size and design. Or, you can just ask the people who have upgraded, changed, or a developers what they recommend. I suggest contacting these people as I would consider them the...

It's Time For A Rebellion, Better Yet A Revolution. My Guns Will Be Loaded!

One last note with regards to the turbo, back pressure, and draw. These properties have a direct effect on turbo longevity. Excessive limits of both causes wear on turbo thrust bearings. Thrust bearing failure is a common failure area for performance turbos.

It's Time For A Rebellion, Better Yet A Revolution. My Guns Will Be Loaded!

Well, I have seen a few dealers selling some Mazdaspeed mufflers as additions to the speed6 but I don't see anything legitimately listed as a CARB certified aftermarket exhaust system for the speed6 specifically. Regardless, I don't see how lowering the back pressure on a turbo can be...

Simota SRI FULL System (AutoExe Replica)

I am interested as well. They could also use the system for other Mazda 6 models/engines as well with minimal changes to the piping, routing, etc. This could be used to influence their decision as well.

    My custom FMIC

    - Measure the available space. - Determine how much boost (psi) you are planning on running. - Find something that fit these requirements. (good efficiency, minimum boost lag and pressure drop, etc) That pretty much is the gist of it.

    My custom FMIC

Efficiency is "in basic terms" the percentage the intercooler cools the air after it leaves the turbo and before its pushed into your motor.
