    Truth about K-Sports?

...just wanted to extend my thanks for posting this, Jeff. It's great to see a visual of why and just how much low-end dampers suck. I know it's a lot of work for you guys having to defend yourselves online after every post, but I'd absolutely be enthralled if you guys could reveal the lousy...

This is why the motor mounts break (video)

Lots of motor movement can be a reason why mounts wouldn't break. The mount absorbs the force of the engine more gradually over a larger distance. Of course, Mazda tends to have a complete dead area in their mounts to absorb NVH, where the mount is providing little resistance to movement...

GB: Mazdaspeed3 Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intakes

Yeah, the air/fuel ratio is going to be the interesting thing here. Also, Speedy, if you switch directly back to your stock airbox for the dyno, your fuel trims wouldn't have had time to adjust again yet. A user on another forum verified that the Mazdaspeed intake does indeed change them- in...

    standalone enginemanagement???

The Mazdaspeed3 has some tricky limitations that no current piggyback can currently handle that I'm aware of. I know of at least one guy with a Mazdaspeed6 who has run into one of several possible roadblocks, and he's working with Custom Performance Engineering who had already discovered and...

    MS3 fuel upgrades??? larger injectors??

Actually, that's incorrect- he ran into problems and is in talks with CPE over a secret project to fix things!

    another mazdaspeed CAI thread

I don't have any, but I know I've seen them. Anyone got a link? Maybe CPE can post some pictures. I can certainly explain what I know of their system, though I'm sure CPE can explain it better than I can. CPE puts the MAF after a bend (a no-no), but they used air straighteners after the...

    MS3 fuel upgrades??? larger injectors??

How would you control the larger injectors? As Bufalo said, this is waaaay different than any port-injection system. I think the current fuel system will support close to 400hp, but I do wonder if some combustion efficiency will be lost around that level since the fuel will have no time to mix.

    standalone enginemanagement???

Xede is a piggy back but isn't powerful enough long-term- some here already know why, I think. Cobb isn't out yet but it will be a reflash. A standalone ECU is a bad thing nowadays for a modern car- the factory ECU controls way too many things- and to a high degree of precision- that you...

    another mazdaspeed CAI thread

Speedy, I think the your "scanner dyno" results and these real-life dyno results are confirming something: that the ECU doesn't know what it's doing anymore. The reported gains from users are anywhere between 10hp and 35hp! I'd estimate the gains from relieving the pressure drop in the intake...

    another mazdaspeed CAI thread

Speedy, you've ignored my request for fuel trim data. Did you miss it, or do you not have the a scan tool? If not, I understand. I wrote this on another board, but it belongs in this thread too: Yikes! Somebody measure their fuel trims with this intake. The MAF is mounted after a bend in...

    Speed3 Cp-e Intake Has Arrived!!!!

Well that's kind of what I was getting at- you'll see those types of best-in-class gains when CPE releases their piggyback. Mazdaspeed is inflating their dyno numbers by causing the car to run lean. You probably remember the whole ordeal with the Mazda6 Injen intakes and CPE releasing an...

    mazdaspeed3 cai?

Speedy, I responded to your gains in this thread: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3011320&postcount=63 Those are impressive numbers, for sure, but I think you should be investigating exactly where the gains are coming from- mainly, is your intake leaning out the air/fuel ratio...

    Speed3 Cp-e Intake Has Arrived!!!!

Besides what I posted earlier about the SPT intake? Are you not paying attention in this thread? Hell, there's tons of proof out there- Injen released an intake for the Mazda6 that threw the fuel trims off off by 15%! AEM saw this, posted on the Mazda6 forums and said, "We'll make a properly...

    Speed3 Cp-e Intake Has Arrived!!!!

The "official" aftermarket parts from auto companies are not necessarily good parts. I wouldn't put any faith in a label alone. Use your heads and examine the intakes without prejudice. By getting a improperly-sized, Mazda-branded intake, you're sacrificing your car for the warranty. How is...
