    Camber Plates

In a perfect world, Vorshlag would make Mazda Protege camber plates - they include a sealed bearing for the upper spring perch that separates the spring rotation from the upper spherical bearing. GC camber plates have a bearing too, but I don't think it is sealed. Just about every other one...

    Camber Plates

No, the AWR ones won't make a difference unless you change the springs. It's the perch for the stock diameter springs that is the problem. The AWR plates do have the advantage of adding caster. I won't get into why that's better, use google for that. IMHO - if you're going to get coilovers...

    Camber Plates

Nope, it won't work. The upper spring perch is already very close to the wall of the outer perch housing. You can't do it without using a smaller diameter front spring and upper perch. That means either full new coil over shocks or something like the Ground Control coil-over kits.

WTB: New set of front springs, OEM or aftermarket

I've a set of MSP stock front springs. Yours for shipping costs + $15. I figure the $15 covers the pain-in-the-ass of boxing them up and taking them to the ups store. No, I won't ship post office. If you want USPS, I'll up it to $25 for the amount of time I'll piss away standing in line.

Beyond Bolt On - The Cheap Road

Compression ratio. WTF is that? The compression ratio of an engine is a ratio of volumes. At top dead center, the piston gets Pretty Damn Close to the cylinder head. The amount of air trapped at TDC during combustion is the combustion chamber volume. In addition to that, there is the swept...

Beyond Bolt On - The Cheap Road

Next up: The J-spec camshafts. Again, my feeble understanding is offered waiting for correction from those who are able. In other countries than the US, the FSDE engine was offered with an upgraded INTAKE camshaft. This is commonly called the J-spec or Mazdaspeed Intake cam. These are readily...

Beyond Bolt On - The Cheap Road

First up: the MP3 ECU upgrade. Due to the efforts of those on this board, this upgrade is readily available to those that read the For Sale thread (and can use the search function....) From my feeble understanding, this upgrade offers the following: about 3 WHP. Seem weak? Try pulling back...

Beyond Bolt On - The Cheap Road

There's a really great thread here on the forum, where the gauntlet has been thrown down for those interested in building a beast of an NA motor: The goal of 100 hp per liter of displacement. These engines are thrilling to drive, and the sound they produce at idle is enough to make the hairs on...
