    Broken Key Remote

I have the switchblade type key for my CX-7 and the other day my keys fell off the other end when I pulled it out of my pocket. After inspection I noticed that the portion of the remote where the 'O' ring attached to hold my other keys had cracked and therefore will not hold anything on the...

    Sirius Mod Install

No problem with am/fm reception. Did you make sure that you plugged the radio atenna back in before you re-installed the radio? It was kind of a tight fit, so it could have come lose. And yes I did use the splitter, I did not get any Siruis repception until I did.

I understand, it is a bit nerve wrecking, but once you get it started, it should pull right out.

    Sirius Mod Install

Pretty much, there is a link somewhere in the CX-7 forum that also explains how to remove it, but once you get it started with the putty knife, you have to release two clips along each side of the lower end of the radio and the rest will pop with very little muscle. Here is one helpful link...

Got mine at Circuit City. It doesn't have voice recognition, but it does have enhanced street names, which is nice.

Very easy, once you get the silver bezel popped off, its only 4 phillips screws holding it in.

    Sirius Mod Install

When I called to activate it, they knew it was a Mazda radio (by the radio ID I am assuming). The customer service rep said it was a 6 month free activation and I could continue if I wanted to at the end of that time. I think that it is standard with a new car activation.

You have to take the trim piece out from around the dash, just as if you were going to access the radio. The three vents are screwed onto the piece. Once you unscrew them, if you look at the top of the vents you will see two "tabs" that once you apply a little pressure to it will pop right...

    Nav Alternative

Yes I will, it will only require removing the disc that I put in the hole that I removed the vent from and popping the vent back in. It was very easy to do and of course I saved the vent so I could replace it. And yes the features on the TomTom are far superior to the OEM Nav and for anyone...

    Nav Alternative

I don't know if anybody else is now wishing they would have gotten the NAV system like am, but I have found an alternative that I am very happy with. I got a TomTom 910 and mounted it in the dash so it looks almost like it belongs there. Basically what I did was take out the vent from the...

    Sirius Mod Install

Got the sirius installed. Took all of about 30 minutes. It was very easy. Basically it involves taking out the radio to plug in the unit, taking out the glove box to mount the unit and running the wire for the antenna. I put mine on the dash. That was where my XM antenna was and so far so...

    Sirius Mod Install

There were a couple of other threads in the forum that didn't seem to think the sound quality was that good, that is why I asked. Also found out for any one interested that you do not need the additional kit for the install, it has zip ties, foam pads, ect, nothing that is required for the...

    Sirius Mod Install

A couple of questions, has any one done there own install on the factory sirius kit? Just purchased one on ebay for $150. Had Xm, but want a cleaner looking dash. Got a TOMTOM because it did not get the NAV package and according to the dealer, it's not something you can add on after the fact...
