    Suprising acceleration?

btw...a boost gauge won't tell the whole story. Remember your chemistry, or physics... PV=nRT. 6 PSI at 5 C is not the same amount of air as 6 PSI at 30 C, for instance. Regardless of the pressure, colder = more air, and..all other things being equal, colder can sometimes provide protection...

    Suprising acceleration?

Get a boost gauge asap. When in doubt, run the highest octane gas you can. Cooler denser air definitely makes a difference. I used to feel the same thing with my 89 PGT. Never mind fall weather, try -15 or -20 C. The ECU tries to compensate, but you get much more boost regardless. Trouble is...

    Considering a MSP...vs ...

I'm looking at regular Protege's now too. I am not sure I can afford a full MSP right now. I would like get an MSP, but I'm considering the regular Protege to save money for now. Maybe an MSP will be in my future.

    1.8 Turbo?

Doesn't the MSP 2.0 setup use lower compression pistons/cylinders to avoid detonation under boost? Or is that old school turbo?

Whats unichip? Is that re-programming or re-programmed ecu with a fuel-map to suit over 10-11 PSI?

    Considering a MSP...vs ...

Thank-you for the useful info. I would like to up the boost to around 10 PSI I guess, probably not much more. I would like a programable boost controller so I can run stock most of the time, and run higher only occasionally. I guess it is going to be hard to find an example that is in good...

Canucks with MSP's? Toronto area? What colours do we have up here?

I usually only notice the Orange MSP's. Did we get the other colours up here in Canada? Did we get the 2003.5 models also? Are there many Canadian owners of MSP's up here? Anybody in the Toronto area? Looking for feedback about potentially purchasing a used MSP some day. thanx :)

    1987 323... info please

With the B6, watch for burnt valves. The engines had lubrication problems on some engines. My 87 carbed DX hatch developed a burnt valve at 176 000 KM. My FI 1988 LX was fine, but apparantly had a newer engine (new motor due to law suit or something..I had the receipts). You can swap engines til...

    Considering a MSP...vs ...

Yeah, I am sure there is alot I could do. I don't think I would do a whole lot more than a CAI, CAT-back exhaust and bringing the boost up to no more than 11 to 12 PSI. I would want to be able to run stock or 11-12 PSI with a grainger valve or boost controller. They are different cars. The...

Hello MSP folks. My car history is as follows: 79 Pontiac Acadian (self explanitory first car) 87 Mazda 323 DX hatchback (carbed 1.6 B6) 88 Mazda 323 LX sedan (B6F) 89 Ford Probe GT (F2T) (loved that turbo and was that car ever reliable!) 91 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser (3.3 V6) I am...
