    Washed+Wax=RAIN

Usually for me wash + wax = pigeon poop attack within 10-15 minutes and/or thunderstorm

    Oil Change Morons!!

I went to Midas the other day to take advantage of their $29.99 oil change/tire rotation. I assumed everything would be fine because how can you mess up something that basic, but as I drove off I heard a banging noise and knew right away they didn't tighten the lug nuts on my wheels. I took it...

    30k Maintenance - feels good

I just hit 25K and am wondering if I am supposed to change my spark plug wires along with the plugs or is just changing the plugs good enough?

    P5 vs. Garage Door

I've done P5 vs. ladder in garage and lost that one. No major damage, but I wished I hadn't tried to move my car seconds after waking up.

Anyone have experience painting plastic pieces chrome?

Just a brief update. I never was able to find a decent paint that could do the job. I tried Duplicolor Instant Chrome, but that had to be the worst paint I've ever used. Instead, I opted to paint most of it it navy blue and used the Krylon fusion paint. That paint is awesome! It's goes on...

    Jacking Points

Just be careful if you are following the manual exactly because it doesn't take into consideration the side skirts. The first time I jacked up my car I nearly broke them off and bent some of the metal under the car from having the jack in the wrong place. I took my P5 into the local Mazda place...

    Ran From Cops?!!!

I'm glad to hear someone is talking sense here. Driving 100 MPH and RUNNING from the police is always a bad idea. When I see guys flying by me like that I pray for the police to catch them. They endanger not only their own lives, but the lives of everyone around them including the cops who...

Anyone have experience painting plastic pieces chrome?

Oh yeah...who does dipping? Where should I look for a service like that? And I'm positive a hot dip would melt the pieces, so cold would be the only option.

Anyone have experience painting plastic pieces chrome?

Thanks for everyone's responses so far and thanks for the move into this section. I haven't tried vinyl, but I have tried mylar which was difficult to work with. There are a lot of curves on the costume and I know the mylar scratches too easy. I tried aluminum (foil that is) and that is way...

Anyone have experience painting plastic pieces chrome?

I've seen a line of those paints in the hardware store. They come in many different colors, but not in chrome or metallic silver.

Anyone have experience painting plastic pieces chrome?

I tried that, but the paint would slightly smudge whenever I handled the pieces. I need something that is clear coated or won't smudge. Do you think the dipping process would work? I don't have to spray it on.

Anyone have experience painting plastic pieces chrome?

I know this belongs in the technical section, but for some reason I was not able to post new threads there...so until I can...here is my question: Does anyone who has experience painting PLASTIC, know how I can get a CHROME finish that won't turn dull gray after I put on a clear coat? This is...

    Just got a apeeding ticket

I got pulled over by a motorcycle CHP officer about a year and a half ago on the 210 West while on my way to work. I was going about 85 in a 65 so I deserved it, but he pulled two of us over at the same time and that made me even more late to work. Then the guy who hired me for my job...

what do you love\hate about your P5?

I love the look of the car. I strongly dislike the less than advertised gas mileage and I wish it had more cargo space. Overall I like the car, but wish I'd waited a little longer and bought a Pontiac Vibe. That would have been a better match for my needs.

    Help, my car got egged!

Wow! I'm not looking to go to prison for life over a 1/2 dozen stupid eggs that destroyed the paint job on my car. But thanks for your input anyway.

    Help, my car got egged!

I couldn't find the Stoner's, but I found the Clay Bar and it got most of the film off, but none of the stains. Perhaps the egss ate through the clear coat and all I can do now is repaint it at best. At least the surface is smooth now. If I get gutsy enough I might even break out the touch...

    Help, my car got egged!

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I will try them all before I give up on this. What is clay bar and where do you get it?

    Help, my car got egged!

I hear you. Two of the eggs were on my window and although I have gotten the egg film off, the stains remain. I can't believe I have permanent stains on my window!

    Help, my car got egged!

RyanJayG: Ironically, I had planned to wax my car over the weekend so no it hadn't been recently waxed. Also, ironically I had my car in storage the past two months and was worried that something would happen to it. Nothing did...until I got it back out on the streets. Thanks Long Beach...
