We have twins and my wife had to quit her job (she's a midwife! Very ironic:D ) four months into the pregnancy for health reasons (although different from yours) and take up some bedrest. Luckily the twins were born ok and big too!

Last time I had a diesel model (an old Vauxhall/GM) was about 12 years ago and it was much cheaper then. In th UK, we always get at least one diesel option on virtually every model that is sold here, some are much better than others, obviously.

Yeah, we do get the diesel version, but in terms of fuel expense it's no help, as that particular fuel is even more expensive than unleaded...
And I believe in terms of fuel costs, the Dutch are only slightly lower than us.
Hehe! You people on that side of the Atlantic don't know how lucky you are with your gas prices. I filled up yesterday and it was 91.9 pence (UK) a litre. Most of that is tax. :(
In US terms that's...well, I don't know but you can work it out...
