OEM alarm goes off with key (2010 Mazda5)

Reviving this thread as the issue of the alarm going off randomly has resurfaced. Upon further research this go around, it appears that a faulty door latch actuator (Front Driver's Door) could be the culprit of what is triggering the alarm for no particular reason. Wife noticed the door lock...

P0600 CEL: Serial Communication Link | Anyone else experience this before?

Thanks, edmaz. Car is running smoothly. I was afraid that this CEL may be a challenge to narrow down. Battery is about a month old so I would think it isn't that. I have a battery and alternator tester at home so I'll hook that up soon and see if there's anything there.

P0600 CEL: Serial Communication Link | Anyone else experience this before?

My wife's 2010 Mazda 5 has recently triggered the P0600 CEL. It has come on two times in the last two months. I've cleared it it with a PBD scanner, but would like to address the culprit. Anyone other owners/members experienced this? Any pointers on what to look for/troubleshoot?

OEM alarm goes off with key (2010 Mazda5)

Just wanted to confirm that the OEM alarm is supposed to go off in this scenario: Lock the vehicle with fob; unlock driver's side door with key then the horn starts honking. Reason I'm asking is because my wife ran into this issue recently where the fob battery was starting to die and was...

    Autoblog: 2006-2010 Mazda5 | Used Vehicle Spotlight

Nice to see this article. And I couldn't agree more. I still often look at our 2010 in parking lots, our driveway, and other places and just admire how great it looks! https://www.autoblog.com/2021/08/03/used-mazda5-listings/

    Mazda5 Horn Replacements

I installed a set of Hella Trumpet horns without relay. It's been working fine for a few years now without any issues. I prefer the Trumpet sound over the Supertones...Less meep and more honk.:)

Ramp vs. Jack; Level vs. Incline

Rhino Ramps for oil changes, some suspension work (end links), and other misc (starter). I use low profile rapid pump jack and four jack stands for tire rotations and other things. I haven't found that oil doesn't drain enough with ramps. Have had them for 10+ years and no issues servicing...

Water Leak In Rear Cargo Area

When I had a leak in my P5 a few years ago (spare tire well was collecting water), it was the hatch weatherstripping. I deduced that it just needed some new sealant. Used some 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive and it fixed the problem. That stuff is messy though so use with care :)

    2017~2024 Crooked Headlights? 2018 GT

From a distance, the two separate beam patterns should be cohesive and be as one. The driver's headlight looks a bit low to me. There is a screw on the back of the headlight unit to adjust the beam up/down. Park about 25 feet from a wall and make small adjustments up until both beams are...

    Issues with new site?

This is something that I prefer. I'm a part of another forum that has dark mode as an option to appease all members :) I have tried 3rd party add-ons in the past and, unfortunately, they do not do an adequate job of properly transferring over all of the color schemes properly.

    Passenger (#3)/Rear (#1)/Transmission (#4) Motor Mount Experience/Recommendations

I purchased the entire mount and according to the Amazon item description, it's for the 2.3. The mount came a day early and I installed it tonight. It fit perfectly and took about 20-30 minutes. At idle, it's just as smooth as the OEM mount. There are conflicting answers out there regarding...

    Passenger (#3)/Rear (#1)/Transmission (#4) Motor Mount Experience/Recommendations

Currently at 59K miles on our 2010 MZ5 GT. During my oil change this past weekend, I saw the dreaded hydraulic fluid from the PMM. Not sure how long it's been leaking, but there were little puddles in the splash shield and all around the mount itself. I cleaned it up as best as I could, but...

    What are these for?

Curious as to what other MZ5 owners use these diagonal slits for in the second row foldout console (if at all).

Saw a new Telluride on the road today.

As with any vehicle, pros and cons to everything. You just have to figure out what's a priority to you. The CX-9 also excels in driving dynamics. Telluride, for its size, utilizes its interior space fairly well, with a fairly usable third row seat. When the CX-9 gets an update, it'll probably...

Saw a new Telluride on the road today.

The Telluride boasts an attractive interior and exterior IMO. All of the reviews point to that as well. I'll have an opportunity to tour the West Point plant where they're being manufactured later this year. Looking forward to that!

    LED Headlights on the Mazda5

Wow...that looks like a lot of glare in the shot behind the Toyota.
